Galvin Green Rain Gear
Nicer quality construction than expected. I got it primarily for the
shell as a rain suit, but since it's bigger than I expected, it'll have
to wait to be primarily a snow suit next winter. The liner is simple
fleece. The shell is probably not super waterproof, it reminds me of a
middle-of-the-road ski outfit. I'll bet it's warm. We'll see.The hood
helps keep you warm and dry and the small visor lets you see even when
you cinch down the hood on those really cold and wet days. The sleeves
stay in place and do not ride up at all thanks to the thumb loops and
velcro adjustable wrists. The drawstring bottom also helps keep snow and
wind outside. Chest pockets on the inside and outside help hold your
stuff. Pit zips also let you regulate temperature as needed. The inside
does feel a little scratchy on skin, but I've never thought it is too
bad. It's vaguely like wearing a wool sweater, but not even that bad. I
mostly wear my jacket over other layers, so it has never been a problem
to me..
